There are 285 million people in the world suffering of sight problems, 39 millions are blind.
19 millions of kids in the world are partially sighted and 1.4 millions are considered blind.

Europe has 30 million visually impaired people, 2.713.000 are completely blind.

82% of visually impaired people is over the age of 50.
The average unemployment rate of blind and partially sighted persons of working age (between 18 and 60 years old) is over 75%, this is the best scenario where communities and schools are cooperating in the creation of an inclusive society. 

EBU European Blind Union provides a European platform for its membership to share views, expertise and information.

The virtual reality SoundSight Training will allow blind people to learn the human echolocation, furthermore the tool will serve as a mean to communicate with other users enabling them to share information, and experiences.

Soundsight wants to target  blind and partially sighted people aged below 50 years old. Statistics are estimating that there are 5.400.000 visually impaired people currently living in Europe.

​Soundsight Training goal is to extensively spread the human echolocation within the blind community, make it became socially accepted, engage schools, organizations and foundations to share and sponsor this technique by providing an effective and entertaining tool that will help blind people in their challenge to overcome their handicap.
