The device is to be intended as a tool to provide useful feedback to the user while performing the echolocation exercises. The aim is to enhance the user experience offering a tactile representation of the virtual environments once the challenges have been accomplished, gaining extensive information of the contexts explored.



Multiplayer is an exciting feature that, thanks to internet connectivity, enables multiple users to play within the same “level”. Whoever accomplishes/wins the challenge earns double the credits he would have earned when playing alone.

The free enciclopedia of SoundSight Trainining built collabolatively from SoundSight Training users and SoundSight Training team.
This will allow all the user to share and find information about the virtual reality and all the challenges inside of that.

First software tests and demos,  SoundSight mission explained: the trial aims to provide a first hand experience of the virtual reality develop by SoundSight Training and to demonstrate how an acoustic virtual environment may appear. The trial is addressed to potential customers that may be interested in the product. The main objectives of the trial are:
Entertain, excite curiosity, taste how human echolocation works (different scenarios available)
There will be also a virtual mascotte might help especially when proposing the trial to kids.



The optimal hardware configuration combined with the optimal peripherals that will maximize the SoundSight Training performances. In fact it won’t only affect the output, but also the input of the users.


Educational software teaching blind people the human echolocation technique using a virtual platform. The code is open source and the UI will be design to entertain, teach and engage the users.

At first the proposed exercises will be static and will serve as an introduction to the human echolocation. The training will focus on how to click the tongue to generate/produce/create a sound easily recognizable in a simplified environment.  

Basic challenges will consist in the identification of virtual environments: the users shall identify the context in which he’s located (i.e. open space vs closed room), its location and the general form factor.

Each volume has a peculiar sound, it’s extremely important to get an immediate understanding of the surrounding context and, as a consequence, determine one's position within the volume itself.
Once this basic skill will be properly acquired, the subsequent challenge will be represented by the identification of objects and their position within the virtual environment. As said, these are all “static” exercises that don’t require the user to move around in the virtual environment. The aim is to gain a fair understanding on how to master the basics of human echolocation.

Our mission isn’t only develop a software, but is enhance blind people quality life.
We want to build up a system that will become part of their daily life and that involve their friends and their families.




Echolocation will be a technique that will allow blind people to navigate safer the space, but some objects, signals or obstacles could not be perceived with echolocation, like cars, bikes, chuckhole or street posts.
For this reason we will build up the Wearable Echolocator that is a device that will help blind people to detect all these things when they are moving around during their daily life

This will allow SoundSight users to upload one or more places in which they want to train themselves, using a CAD file of that place
